Hi there,
This may have been asked umpteen times, but I couldn't find it on the forum. So here goes:

I disabled the loading of Bootstrap CSS and JS in the JEvents Configuration screen. However, when I inspected the Page Source, I noticed these lines:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/[*]/media/com_jevents/css/bootstrap.css" type="text/css" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/[*]/media/com_jevents/css/bootstrap-responsive.css" type="text/css" />

Does this mean the Config Screen Bootstrap disable function doesn't work? I want to do my own styling using my own Bootstrap 3 template, and loading an extra Bootstrap 2 css file will be a sure way to failure.
OR: Does that mean JEvents is incompatible with Bootstrap 3? If it is, any way out?

Thanx,

Thom

Hello,

Please can you post your JEvents Support Info?

I suspect you are using the filter module and that has been set to load the bootstrap.

Thanks
Tony

Wow, Tony... don't work yourself to a burnout. It is 11 p.m. after all :-)
But thanks for getting back to me.

This is the site: as you can see it is still in its test phase: http://chjc.nl.testbyte.nl/ At the bottom you see the "JEvents Latest Events"

Thanx,

Thom
PS: should you need access to the administrator side or even ftp to have a closer look, just say so.

Unforunately times are a bit too busy! lol.

Ahh ok so go into that modules settings and scroll to the bottom. There is another config for loading bootstrap.

Thanks
Tony

Hey Tony,

You can go to bed now, at least as far as I'm concerned :D Problem solved!! Of course I need to go through your Bootstrap CSS files to see anything I may need. I'm using LESSCSS to generate my CSS so I would want to incorporate anything that is useful from your Bootstrap CSS.

Is the CSS really tweaked to fit your needs? Would there be documentation for it, so I can read about the reasoning behind your writing your own CSS? Is it only necessary for Bootstrap 2?

As I said I'm still in the planning stages and since the client has rather elaborate specs for their events/calendar module, I still need to find out if JEvents is what best suits the site.

So far your quick response and spot on solution gives me confidence. I wish more extension developers would give the level of support.

So thanx a lot!

Thanks for your kind words!

I'll incorporate an override in the module for JEvents 3.4 - if the JEvents global setting is NOT to load bootstrap then the module will not either.
