I am currently rebuilding a web site for a not-for-profit National Sporting Association. This Association has a number of Affiliated clubs and this Organisation manages a number of International, National and State based Representative Tournaments selecting players from the Affiliated Clubs.

So implementing a Events application is a must. I have installed the Free version of JEvents and I'm very happy with its functionality and I am considering purchasing a subscription.

As part of this site I wish to display information regarding each of the Affiliated Clubs, so that potential players coming to this site can find a club to play at. So I am currently looking to implement a Club Locator page where a person can search by Post / Zip code to display a list of Affiliated Clubs with a link to the Particular Clubs Detail page. (These Clubs may not publish any events on this site)

Can I use the Managed Locations add-on to Achieve this?

I have just purchased the Silver Club membership now and have implemented a menu item using "JEvents List Locations" which solves this question.

However, is there a way to remove the "All Categories" Selection box from this view? or limiting the number of Categories to a sub selection?

At the moment the 2 options are, when configuring your menu item, to show locations from all categories or some just one. Can I confirm that what you want is to show locations from a sub-set of your categories (and hence the drop down would only show that subset)? If so we may be able to enhance the functionality to support that.

In the meantime you can add this CSS to your jevents custom css file
#filter_loccat {
display: none;
}

and it will hide the category filter

Thanks for the reply.

To follow up, below is a sample of what Im trying to achieve.

<!-- ia1 -->JEvent_List_location_All_Cats.png<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:2illn5np]

As you can see from the Categories Pull Down I am trying to Categorise Representative Events at a National and State Level and use the QLD / NSW Categories for our Affiliated Club information.

So currently I have created multiple Menu Items filtering on just the single Category, so if it was possible to put in the Option of selecting multiple Categories, then I could have made 1 menu item for Club Information selecting both QLD and NSW.

I found in the module where you can turn off all Filtering (see below screen shot)

<!-- ia2 -->JEvent_List_Location_Hide_Search_Field.png<!-- ia2 -->[/attachment:2illn5np]

However this makes the front screen look like

<!-- ia0 -->JEvent_List_Location_hiding_Categories.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2illn5np]

So by modifying the CSS as per your reply, will that just remove the Categories Box and leave the Text Filter visible ?

Yes that CSS will leave the text search and hide the category filter - I'll add a multi-select drop selection for menu items as a TODO item

I've made this change to the code and it will be in the next release of the locations manager during next week.
