I've just updated my JEvents package on my Joomla site and I got the following :
Error
Your site is running an out of date version of PHP (5.5.29) which is no longer supported by its developers. You should ask your web host to upgrade as soon as possible.

I've contacted my web hoster and they say that they now provide a cPanel facility to choose which version of PHP to be run on my account

In order to get the best performance and stability from my JEvents software ( which is very importasnt to me ) - which version of PHP would you recommend that I select ?

Hello,

That's a very good point actually! We highly recommend PHP7.0 and so does Joomla! php7.0 is at least twice as fast as php5.6. See:

https://www.gavick.com/blog/joomla-php-7-speedtest

Gavick do a great document on the performance differences! But make sure all your extensions are up to date.

Many thanks
Tony
