Hi,

Is it possible to load custom layout templates onto different pages?

I am editing the 'events by day' page and would like to include the form to add an event on that day. Presently there is a link to 'Add event' which brings up the form (icalevent.edit_page), but I would like it displayed on the same page ideally.

Thanks,

Gareth

Hello,

Sorry where is the person from? i.e. is it the managed people?

Disable your override, and look for the person select box and insert a person, inspect the HTML of the page and you should see the input box and value now so you know the name and values we are using to set it.

Many thanks
Tony

Thanks Tony.

I have managed to pass the variable to the edit event screen, so from the person profile it is possible to add event on that day (day view). I have then customised the 'event edit' form direct via an override (icalevent/edit.php) so that the person detail is served and the event saves just fine (the URL is now appended with /icalevent_edit/0?year=2017&month=03&day=16&custom_person=2).

I am close, but just struggling to submit the 'custom_person' value to the database when saving the event. I wondered if you would be able tyo point me in the right direction?

Hello,

1. So enable edit events in a popup and use the Day List View

2. not at present. How would the system know who the default person is?

Many thanks
Tony

Thanks Tony - ideally I am looking for the page to be accessed via the calendar to show all submitted events in one day, along with the form to add an event for that day.

I also wondered - with managed people, there is an option to select from a list of people added in the managed people plugin when adding an event. Is it possible for this field to be automatically populated with a particular individual, so that the user doesn't have to scroll through the full list? So far I am serving the person profile followed by the calendar component with all of their filtered dates - and I am looking for an option to add an event for that person.

Hello Gareth,

So you want to display the add an event form on the same page?

Why not enable event editing in a pop-up? Then they are on the same page.

Many thanks
Tony
