Hi all,

Jevents reminded me that the 3.1-version isn't supported anymore and that v3.2 is the preferred version to be used.
Is there anything special I should know about the upgrade or can I just install the new version from the zip?

Couldn't find any information on this, only for when upgrading from 2.5 to 3.2 or later. 8-/

In the JEvents config (first tab) - what is the "first year"/"last year" you have as an overall constraint on your calendar (the screenshot earlier was too small to read).

Also do you use the TimeLimit plugin?

In the menu item under 'basic options' you had set a date restriction in the time limit field of

january 2014,31 december 2015

I removed this and now your January event shows.

You can set them in the time limit plugin config in that view which has -1,-1 assigned to disable them for being used.

Geraint remove what he mentioned about.

Many thanks
Tony

Hey guys,

Did the conflict checker in configuration/event editing/Check for specific conflicting events before saving get disabled?

I can add conflicting events for the same resource now.

It might be easy to say I have a version mismatch, and that that's where my problem is I guess.

Guys, the conflict checker seems to not be working again after the recent Jevents update.

I use the "Check specifik conflicting events" setting in the configuration so as not to book the same resource at the same time.

Has anybody seen this?

Any resolution for it?

Something I can try to tweak?

Thanks.

Check Specific Conflicting events will only check for events to not have the same resources or categories, but will allow for instance events in different categories. Can you please provide more info about your scenario like where do you thing the conflict exists?

Say that I want to book a portable computer for a conference.
I choose the computer (=category) and enter all day for 2016-03-10 > 2016-03-12 and add it to the calendar.

Then person Two wants to book this computer as well, so he choses the same computer (=category), but chooses 2016-03-11 > 2016-03-13 and all day.

Upon clicking add this event, Person Two does not get a warning about the conflict.

did you configure that specific category (by editing it) to warn you of overlapping events?

I think I did.
I'll double-check. BRB.

Edit: Come to think of it, the conflict checking is a global setting.
There isn't any conflict checking on the individual categories as far as I can see.
Or is there?

Edit2: The setting Skip test on site referrer when checking overlapping events is set to no.
We have no referrer site, this is all one (intranet)site.

Edit3: Found it! Changed it to check for overlapping events.
May I suggest that event conflict checking is consolidated in one place if possible? :)

Check conflict events is a global setting in the Edit events tab at JEvents Configuration. If you want to check conflict events no matter category or resource you set it as Check any conflicting events. If you want to restrict the conflict events to just one category, you set it for Check Specific Conflicting events and you go to the category you want to set to Check Conflict events.

I think this makes sense, what would you propose?

It makes sense when you know about it. :)

I'd like to see a short explanation, exactly and just like the one you write above in the pop-up blurbs. It's clear as crystal.
The global setting for conflict editing, should cross-reference to the category level conflict checking, and vice versa.
That way I think you're not likely to miss the two or three places where this is controlled.
