I am trying to set up a calendar for our high school athletic department web site. We are running Joomla 2.5.4. We subscribe to a service that has a website that manages the scheduling of all aspects of our athletic program (games, locations, times, facilities, transportation, officials, etc.). Almost every high school in the state subscribes to this service so when an opponent school changes an event, our school's calendar is automatically updated. The service has an iCal feed that gives me a schedule of all of our games. I downloaded JEvents 3.1.30 and imported the feed. Our calendar works fine and displays all of our school's events in one place, and that is my problem. I need to display separate calendars for each team on that team's web page. It would be easy to do if I could get separate iCal feeds for each team or if they had separate fields in each record of the feed for sport (basketball, football, etc.), gender (male, female, coed), and level (varsity, JV). That is not possible at this time. Below are a couple of records from the feed to show you what I have to work with:

BEGIN:VEVENT
DTSTAMP:20140924T203000
DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20140825T160000

END:VEVENT

There are approximately 350 records (events) in our iCal file at any point in time. The file is automatically updated each time a user opens the home page of our site. This insures that you get the latest calendar, especially if there are last minute cancellations or postponements.

QUESTION: Can JEvents parse the SUMMARY field in each iCal record for gender, level and team and assign records to different categories (like Boys Varsity Football)? Could I then display day, week and month calendars for only that category?

I'm open to any better suggestions that don't require changing the iCal feed. I've already been told that they are not going to change the feed.

Hello,

You can use the Calendar Specific Menus and Modules plugin which is available to our Silver Club Members. See:

http://www.jevents.net/products-new/add ... us-modules

This will allow you to filter menu items based on the calendar feeds.

The summary is basically the title for the event.

Many thanks
Tony
