Hi, I've spent the morning looking at this and it appears to be what I need. But, I've downloaded and installed, but how on earth do I add an event, there are no + buttons on my calendar as in the online demonstration version? I have to say i have found the whole thing very confusing so far! <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

The above is standard Joomla! practice.
If you go to the Modules configuration and set 'is link' to no and make sure display calendar link is set to no/none.

Thanks for that i finally worked it out. It's just that I find the site confusing. What is standard and free and what has to be paid for and what does it do, a simple list with description might add more simplicity! And less tech speak!
Anyway,configuration? In the latest events module, can I switch off the search function when viewing, i simply want to look at the event here, not go to another event from here!

You go to:
Joomla Admin
Components
JEvents
Manage Events
Click New top right.
Or in the front end, if you have sufficient rights, under every JEvents view there is an 'Add Event' or in the monthly view there is a + icon when you hover over the item.
Or you can create a Joomla! Create events module item.
