Hi there!

In the iCal download file there are repeat instances of \n. I can't see a reason and upon checking the JEvents demo site I see the same thing. Please see the screenshot below.

I'd be pleased to remove this extra code if possible.

Thanks,
Laurie.

Hi Laurie,

This is for a new line. It should be recognised by any component you are using to import / use the ical on?

You can set the ical export in the JEvents config to now include formatting.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony!

I'm still having trouble with this.

Please confirm if the setting in configuration is meant to hide the checkbox.

In some situations the description formatting is being shown in the actual calendar, despite the "Allow HTML ....." being set to No. It makes no difference whether it's set to yes or no.

Thanks,
Laurie.

Hello,

And you untick the Preserve formatting correct? Since this is what adds in the /n too.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony!

I'm still unable to present the event description correctly in the iCal details panel.

I need for the user to see normal text in the description in the details panel with no repeating \n\n.

There is no formatting involved so I don't need to offer html in export/import iCal in the configuration.

Again, there is no formatting so the user doesn't need to tick the "Preserve formatting" box.

It's worth noting that the iCal download works as expected in an Apple phone and so possibly also in a Mack computer. The problem is seen on a Windows PC.

I'd like to remove the "preserve formatting" checkbox if possible and have the details window show no \n. At the very least I need for the default (box un-ticked) to show no \n on a windows machine.

Thanks,
Laurie.

Hello Laurie,

the \n is a global recognised macro for a new line. All calendar applications so recognise this. There's not much we can do if your calendar application is not supporting it. There isn't another way to put a newline in, since you cannot just place a blank line in an iCal as it breaks iCal Specifications.

By default the 'Preserve Formatting' is disabled in JEvents?

Many thanks
Tony
