I used to have two native calendars in JEvent, one for events and one for bookings (and two for imports). I decided to change to have only one native since it didn't add any value, the categories are doing the job.

When I unpublished one of the calendars, all the events added in that calendar was gone from the frontend. In the backend they didn't differ from any other event so it took me a long time to discover that the unpublished "calendar" was causing the problem.
I am not a Silver member and do not have the Calendar Specific Menus and Modules addon.

How can I overcome the problem if I want to move from two to one calendar?

Hello Sven,

I would actually suggest just updating your database records and setting the icsid to the icsid of the default calendar and deleting the other calendars so new events then default to this calendar?

Many thanks
Tony

You could export your events from one calendar using an ical export menu item and the import in the frontend into the other calendar.

Thanks Geraint.

The root cause has been the possiblity to choose calendar when creating an event which made it a bit messy and is why I want to change to only one calendar.

Am I correct that I can't limit the export from only one of the native calendars and an import from file can only be done in a new calendar of type Uploaded file?

In that case, should I replace the two native calendars I want to combine with the new Uploaded file calendar and a new empty native calendar (default)?

Will new events created by members go inte the Uploaded files calendar?

Will all modules and menus stay intact (they refer to categories)?

Is there no simpler way? :-|

Wish I'd thought of Tony's solution - so much easier than mine :(

OK, let's see if I got this right. So far I have not taken any action to correct the problem.

IN TABLE _jevents_vevent I should replace the ICSID of the calendar (2) I want to delete with the ICSID of the calendar (1) to which I want to move the events, and then in the Jevents control panel delete the calendar (2)?
Other calendars (3, 4, 5) with type 'Import' remains untouched.
Is this correctly understood?
