Can anyone shed some light on this error please? A user, who is one of the authorized content creators on my site, logged into and got this:

JEV_authorised_user_mode_enabled_but_no_entry_for_super_user

He is not a super user.

Thank you
Larry

It seems that user is not within a group that is authorize to admin JEvents. What is the user trying to do?

He was just logging into the site and that message was on the front page.

He is not someone who posts to my site calendar, just blog entries and forum posts.

And what type of menu item is the home page? Is there any related JEvents stuff there?

Upon logging in, users see 3 modules on the right hand column. Upcoming events for 3 different categories. These have been set up like this for 2 years. This error appeared after I upgraded Joomla to 3.4.1 and to the most recent version of Jevents.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

Has your user been able to repeat the issue? I suspect it might be an error message from a previous action before login in.

Yes, he says it is there when he logs in. That is the only action being taken

Hi larrykaiser,
I think the issue is actually that you have not added this user to the list of Authorised Users. Please add him with the permissions you think he should have, and the error will dissapear.

Thanks for the response. The problem is that I don't want him to be able to add calendar events. I can confirm that by adding him as an authorized user, that the error does go away. This error did not pop up until after the upgrade.

Is there anything else that I can do to prevent this error from showing? I am not sure how many people are getting it, but I have a select few people who add events and if they are not authorized already, then they are not part of the team to add events.

Thanks

Hi larry,
This message appears because this user's usergroup has admin rights for JEvents Component, but as he is not added to the Authorised user's list, system warns you about this weird situation.

So the solution is really simple and actually you have 2 options: either you get rid of this usergroup permissions to admin JEvents, either you create an entry for your users in that group in the authorised users list, even if you do not give any permissions to them.

OK that helped, thanks.

I see there was a new setting in the admin panel that I clicked and the error is now gone. Thank you for the guidance

[attachment=0:2jnpi3x3]<!-- ia0 -->Dump.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2jnpi3x3]I'm getting the same error after an update of JEvents yesterday, [at least that's when I noticed it, but I could be wrong] but it only happens if I am logged in both front and back ends at the same time..

Hello,

The message says it all.

You have enabled Authorised Usermode in Joomla! but the user you currently are is a super user and is not on the authorised user list and therefore is not able to add events.

Either disable authorised user mode: JEvents -> Config -> Permissions
Or
Add the user you are logged in as to:

JEvents -> Authorised Users

Thanks
Tony

Definitely it did not reach my inbox. Can you please check the message in your outbox and confirm it's sent to my username "carcam"?

I was getting the same error and warning messages for users who are logging into the site who are NOT superusers and have NO access to the calendar other than to view it as registered users of the site.

It appears on group of users had access permission to jevents component but weren't SU - removed their access permission and the messages appear to have gone away.

These messages don't seem appropriate to the condition.

Hello,

What version of Joomla! are you using? That does seem strange, and what extactly are the messages? since V 3.4.46 ical update messages shouldn't be shown.

Joomla version, 3.8.8

The error messages were the same as the one reported at the start of this thread. There have been no reports of the errors since I removed access to the jevents components from the user groups that didn't need it.
