I'm having problems with permissions.

I have a user group, PageManager (PM), which is responsible for maintaining particular articles on my website. In Joomla's global permissions, the PM's Login and Edit Own are set to Allowed. This allows PMs to edit articles I set up for and assign to individual PM members.

I have a few Categories set up in JEvents for which I want PMs to have posting and editing permissions. On the Permissions tab in each Category I set Create, Publish/Manage, and Edit Own to Allowed for PM. When I log in as a PM, I can create and publish an Event. However, once published, I can't edit the Event, or at least I can't figure out how to edit it. I also can't delete it. I want PMs to be able to do both.

I went into JEvents Configuration and left the Permissions approach as "Allow event creation and deny by specific category." I set PM's permissions for Create, Publish/Manage, and Edit Own to Allowed but that didn't help. I changed the Permissions approach to "Leave overall permission as inherited..."but that didn't work either.

I'm at a loss. I tried combinations that seemed logical but it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Matthewra,

That's not a permissions issue. That's a conflict with your Joomla! template hiding our pop-up.

Please open a new post with your JEvents Support Info posted as per 2) of the forum rules.

Thanks
Tony

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean. What is "denied force"?
Neither the PageManager group nor its parent has Create permission in Joomla.
In all Categories, I set Create, Edit, Publish/Manage, and Edit own to inherited for the PageManger group.
And still a PageManager cannot edit an event they posted. They can create an event, but they can't edit the event they create.

How come their permission to Create works, but permission to Edit or Edit own does not?

If the members group have denied force in JEvents then the subgroups will inherit these.

By default they should be set to inherit and be of a group which isn't globally allowed to create items. And the sub group i.e. PageManager, will be allowed.

Many thanks
Tony

The members of the PageManager group are also members of another group called Members. In Joomla, the Members group has only Log in permission. In JEvents they can only view events, they have no permission to create or edit.
