new smartphone layout

The layout editor now works on the event editing page too so you can create a customised event creation page that will fit better on a smaller screen. There is no need for a club membership to use this though its quite a complex area and the explanatory docs are for members only I'm afraid.

Ummm I am totally confused now. I wish to create a smartphone-friendly event creation page. I went to the "custom layout" - and I do not see anything there that corresponds to the "add event" page.... I wish to 1) cut out unneeeded fields (like time - all events are 1 day minimum), remove "Activity", remove everything ecept category, name of even, start and end dates. When I have complex events, they are added by the admin window.

No need to 'Add event'. You go to:

JEvens -> Custom Layouts -> Event Edit Page

And remove what you want to etc. It is html structure so you have complete control.
