I hesitate to use the Update function on Jevents because I have complicated template overrides for the following files:

my-template/html/com_jevents/alternative/month/...
...calendar.php
...calendar_body.php
...calendar_cell.php
my-template/html/com_jevents/helpers/...
...defaultviewnavtablebar.php
...defaulteventmanagementdialog.php
my-template/html/com_jevents/alternative/assets/css/events_css.css
my-template/html/com_jevents/assets/images/logo.gif

In particular it is several days of work to re-engineer the overrides if the first three of those files change. So I need to plan before pressing the Update button.

Will the files that these overrides replace (especially the first three files) be unchanged in going from 3.1.42 to the current Jevents version? Or will I have to re-engineer all of the overrides?

Is there a list of which files are changed from 3.1 to 3.2?

Thanks for your attention.

Hello,

I'm afraid I can't be 100% sure if your overrides will continue to work. 3.4 is a bit more complex in the way we now handle list rows and jQuery.

Your best bet is as always with any updates you are slightly concerned about, duplicate your site and try it. Then you can compare the files that cause you issues to see the changes.

Many thanks
Tony

How do we obtain files to update from 3.1.47 manually, please? Our permissions are locked down to stop auto-installers and cannot be changed.

Thank you. Those are installer files, do you have an upload that matches the Joomla file system?

For upgrades handled through ftp upload: Are you asking us to unzip and upload each module individually?

By FTP upload do you mean the FTP system enabled within Joomla? Joomla should take care of all the unpacking and installing for you.
