Hi,

I want to know how the Location list page on Demo site is implemented? Are the modules for Locations listings and the map that appears underneath, and if so, what are their names?

Regards,
Amir.

Hello Amir,

To achieve that you need to be a Silver Club Member using the JEvents Managed Locations plugin and our Map Layout.

Many thanks
Tony

Thank you Tony for feedback,

Is it possible to have the map in form of a module on events listing page rather than Location listing?

Regards,
Amir

Hello Amir,

It is yes. However, the module will need the same parameters set as the menu item for it to be identical.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi All,

Tony - you say that you can have a Map of the locations in a module, however, I can't find this module, only a module that lists the locations with no option to change its layout, I'd love to be able to add a module with just a map of all of the locations (not linked to events as is the case with using the Latest Events module + Map layout).
Is this possible?

Hello Alan,

Sorry there maybe slight confusion.

The Map layout can but used in conjunction with the Latest Events Module to show all the locations of the events found. You can configure the map layout only to show the the map within the latest events module and therefore showing the map within a module.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

I thought that was the case - d*mn!

Unfortunately in my case the events themselves need to be hidden from Guests to the site, but I'd like Guests to be able to see all of the locations we have but on a map so I can't use the latest events module :(

Hi Alan,

What about using the hidden event details plugin? Or is that still too much for them to see?

Hi Tony,

I'll give that a try and see what information is still visible to guests.

Thanks

Hi Tony,

I've just set it up quickly, and it appears to be just the job!! the only issue I can see is that we are also adding images/logos to our events which we are displaying using a custom layout and unfortunately these are still visible, I am going to have a peek at the code and see if I can hide these too, but any pointers would be useful.

Thanks again for your great support!!

Hi Alan,

For the standard image and files plugin just set the Plugin Access Level to registered or which ever level you wish.

Many thanks
Tony

Thanks Tony... it works great.. the only other thing I had to hide was the Contact Details, so I changed the jevhiddendetail.php file and added the following lines :-
80 $row->_contact = "Please Register to View";

136 $rows[$r]->_contact = "Please Register to View";

since this is part of a plugin, can you do a template override for it, and if so where do I put the file in the template's html folder?

Cheers

Alan

Hi Tony,

I've tried to use the WHITELIST option to allow viewing of certain categories but it doesn't seem to work :( I've set it to 19 which is the ID of the category I'd like to be able to still see when NOT logged in, but it still looks like the events are hidden.

Are your events multi-category? Did you clear your joomla cache?

Are some of the categories restricted? We generally use the strictest permissions at all times in JEvents so in this case the detail would be hidden unless all the categories are 'public'/whitelisted

None of the categories are restricted, I've had a quick look at the code and I think it is just checking the "first" category ID, i.e. the lowest value

if (count($this->whitelist) > 0 && in_array($row->catid(), $this->whitelist))
$blockaccess = false;
