The acl in the backend of JEvents doesn't function properly. When i set the access rights for a user group in the JEvent config these access right are inherited in all other Joomla components.

We use the latest joomla version en JEvents on PHP7.

Hello,

Sorry but from the above screenshots it's not showing the JEvents permissions are globally inherited?

What is the problem exactly? Was this site migrated from Joomla 1.5/2.5 by any chance?

Many thanks
Tony

The website is build from version 3.1 and is updated since.

When i enable the JEvents permissions "Access Administration Interface", "Edit Events", "Publish/Manager Events" or "Delete All Events" the acl permissions of the Joomla core components like the banner component inherit these permissions to Allowed (Inherited). This gives certain usergroup extra unwanted permissions. When i disable these permissions from JEvents the permission on the Joomla core components are back to Not Allowed (Inherited)

JEvents shows the following text:
If you change the setting, it will apply to this and all child groups, components and content. Note that Denied will overrule any inherited setting and also the setting in any child group, component or content. In the case of a setting conflict, Deny will take precedence. Not Set is equivalent to Denied but can be changed in child groups, components and content.

I need a certain usergroup to manage the jevents components but they cannot have permissions for other components unless the are in also added in other usergroups.

Is it posible to use acl permissions only for JEvents and leave the Joomla core acl permissions for all other components intact?

Hello,

Yes it should be. You would need to allow global admin access but then edit the jevents config to be access administrator allowed.

Can you please update your site details (on reply) with a super user and your user you want to allow into the backend with only JEvents to use.

Many thanks
TOny
