On a J! 4 install. If i have a menuitem for creating new events and press this, the form for a new event is shown on a new page - but if i then press cancel on the event creation form, the page turns blank and i am stranded on this url: http://xxxxxx.xx/index.php?option=com_jevents&view=icalevent&layout=edit&Itemid=356

Also if i view the events (with float theme) in frontend then the link underneath for adding new event does not work - if i hover the mouse over it I see this url: "javascript:jevModalNoHeader('myEditModal','/index.php?option=com_jevents&task=icalevent.edit&year=2021&month=07&day=08&Itemid=117');"

The problem that is still there is that the edit icon on an event detail page (frontend) does not work. The link says: javascript:jevIdPopup('action_dialogJQ96'); but it does nothing ???

The link you gave earlier in the thread no longer works - is there a site where the problem persists that we can look at?

I thought we had resolved your issue some time ago - sorry if it was not :(

Hello Harry,

It seems to be working fine here. Please try the attached.

Can you let me know how I can recreate this on your site with logins?

Thanks
Tony

What version are you using harry500 J4? If so for now disable editing in popups.

Yes, I am using Joomla 4. I tried already disabling editing in popups. Unfortunately in the "popup" menu that is functional with this setting, all menu items in that popup menu also do not work with a similar error message in the console.

As Joomla 4 is the coming only version this should be fixed.

Hello,

jQuery should be defined as part of the native Joomla! 3 build. What version are you using harry500 J4? If so for now disable editing in popups.

Many thanks
Tony

Hello,

I just updated to the most recent version of JEvents which is 3.6.21, but still having this issue when trying to edit an event at the frontend:

Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
launchModal https://testite/components/com_jevents/assets/js/editpopupJQ.js?v=3.6.21:82
jevIdPopup https://testsite/components/com_jevents/assets/js/editpopupJQ.js?v=3.6.21:257

Should this be fixed in the latest version or is it still to come?

Hello,
is there already a solution to the problem?
In JEvents 3.6.15 on Joomla 3.10.3 It is not possible to create events on the frontend. Nothing happens!
It shows me "javascript:jevModalNoHeader('myEditModal','/http://index.php/calendar/icalevent_edit/xxxxx).
How can i fix that?

Hello,

thank you for the package. But as I have no testing site available and the package is for release shortly as you say, I would prefer waiting for the "official" release to update.

This is a PHP 8 issue and will be resolve in the next release due tomorrow.

Hello,

I just checked the currently available version, but this is still the version 3.6.17. In this version there is no editing of events possible in the frontend ( see my latest posting: ) When can this issue be resolved?

I updated JEvents to the latest version 3.6.17. When creating a new event saving the event by clicking on the buttons "Save" or "Save & Close" works now, but editing a event already created is still not possible (clicking the little grey pencil icon in the frontend). The following message is displayed on the console:

Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
launchModal https://testsite/components/com_jevents/assets/js/editpopupJQ.js?v=3.6.17:82
jevIdPopup https://testsite/components/com_jevents/assets/js/editpopupJQ.js?v=3.6.17:250
<anonymous> javascript:jevIdPopup('action_dialogJQ4');:1

Hello,

I have the same issue with JEvents 3.6.15 on Joomla 4.0.2. It is not possible to create or edit events on the frontend. Nothing happens when clicking the edit icon when an event is displayed or when clicking on the "Save" button when creating a new event. The browser console shows several error messages "Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined" relating to files in the path "/components/com_jevents/assets/js/"

Should JEvents work on Joomla 4? Is this a known problem so far?

This is still not fixed after latest update today ??
Allthough - I am now able to create events thruigh a menu item in frontend, but the link "Add event" still does not work on so doesn't the Edit icon on the details view.
I see theese url's when I hover the links:
javascript:jevModalNoHeader('myEditModal','/http://index.php/arrangementer/icalevent_edit/0?year=2021&month=09&day=08');
javascript:jevIdPopup('action_dialogJQ58');

But nothing happens when I press the Add link or the edit icon

The Cancel button when creating an event front end also does not work - it leads to a blank page.
