Does JEvenst support group calendars which will be seen by any member of a group, but may be edited only by the group "admins" (perhaps a a different group or groups"
For example there is a knitting team calendar, which is visible to any member of the team, but it can only be edited by someone who is a member of the admins group, or someone who is a member of the knitting-team-leaders group

Hi nekha,
you probably can do that with JEvents main component using category restrictions and Joomla! Groups and Access Levels.
Just create your Groups and access levels in Joomla! and then when creating your JEvents Categories, choose the correct permissions and set a user as admin of a category.
