I have a field called jevcfAgendaBackground and it is of type jevcfhtml. I am using numbered lists, bullet points, titles, headings, etc. but when I save everything gets stripped except for the opening and closing p tags.

I am checking the settings in the JCE Editor now, and will report back if I am able to resolve the problem there.

The validate html setting in the editor is set to "No" so do not know why html tags are being stripped from the jevcfhtml field type.

When I look in the Main Event for an event that has many repeats, all the HTML is in tact. When I look at a Specific Event, all the html for all the jevcfhtml type fields is stripped. I can think of no useful reason for this. If the idea was to reduce the size of of the event footprint in database, removing a few layout tags wouldn't reduce the overall footprint of the event in database by much. Leaving the HTML tags in makes much more sense because the display is so much better. There is the jevcfext fields for simple text entry. If the html get stripped from an jevcfhtml field type, what is the purpose of having the jevcfhtml field type in the first place. This isn't the JCE Editor, this is a JEvents function that is doing this.

If there is a setting somewhere that I can unselect please let me know, I can't find it.

Hello,

This has now been fixed on your site and I will make a pull request to be fixed in the next release of JEvents too.

I'm also sorry to hear you think JEvents is a big disappointment, if you could explain a bit more then we can try our best to help / improve where possible.

Many thanks
Tony

OK tony, here you go. The event that I am working on is "911TAP Board Meeting" Originally there were headings, numbered and and unnumbered lists, bold text and indented text, but all that got stripped, This only occurs when viewing specific instances of an event with multiple repeats. If I create an event without repeats the html doesn't get stripped.

These are any field that is of type jevcfhtml.

If the event is a single occurrence event and there are no repeats the the html in a jevcfhtml field is displayed in the front end display of the event and all the relevant CSS applied.

If the event has repeats and I edit one of the repeats, where the field I am editing is of type jevcfhtml, and I add html tags like

<h2>, <h3>, <ul>, <li>
etc. then when I save, all the tags get stripped except for the leading

<p> and trailing </p>
tags.

Look at Agenda and Minutes in:: http://webdev.911truthoutreach.org/9-11-tap-events/911tap-events-calendar/eventdetail/979/complete-test-of-event-entry-form

An then look at Agenda and Minutes in: http://webdev.911truthoutreach.org/9-11-tap-events/911tap-events-calendar/eventdetail/992/complete-test-of-event-entry-form-w-repeats

I think you will see what I mean.

It is not just for these two fields, it is for every field of type jevcfhtml

Hello,

Can you try setting the particular field to allow unfiltered content. Does that change things?

Many thanks
Tony

It was set to "No." so I expect that was the reason. - No Tony, that made no difference, even after enabling "allow unfiltered content" the html gets stripped except for the leading and trailing p tags. This has to work or I can't use this and will have to try another solution I could use the Agenda and Minutes plugin and create articles for the agenda and minutes, but I feel that adds a complexity which will not be acceptable to the persons writing the agendas and minutes.

Another thing, I have created my own ACLs for Joomla and don't use the Guest, Public, Registered, Author, Manager, Administrator, Super User, user groups. How do I set the the access to anyone? "Access to field when editing event" defaults to "Author" and "Access to field when viewing event" defaults to Public. If I can't choose more than one access level, then I would want to have the choice to make it available to all.because I will be using these fields in different contexts and won't know in advance which access level it will pertain to and which user group should have access.

Tony I installed the latest JEvents 3.4.43 update thinking that might solve the problem, but no go.

There is a function somewhere that is stripping the HTML from jevcfhtml fields and you need to find that function and create a switch to invoke that function or to bypass that function. This isn't that difficult to accomplish, simply adding an if-else statement, a variable to select the condition for the if else and another function to set or unset that variable.

JEvents is starting to be a big disappointment for me.

Please get these simple things fixed.

Wow, tony, you just made my day. Thanks so much for taking care of it. It will be a pleasure to report to the board that they can now begin adding their agendas and minutes directly in the board meeting calendar event for each specific meeting date.

JEvents is now making a believer out of me. Sorry for the previous comment, right now, you guys rock.
