hiya,

As an admin, how can I change the creator of an event, either at setup or as an editor?

Thanks

Hi Paul,

If you are god on the site and you have assigned full access rights in the authorised users if you have the right permissions then you can set who the event creator is.

Do you have a custom event edit layout?

JEvents -> Custom Layouts -> Event Edit Page

Is this enabled?

Thanks
Tony

Hi guys,

sorry to be a pain on this, but anymore thoughts?

I am adding events for my members and getting loads of contact which should be going to the members!

Apologies, I meant creator, not editor.

BTW, I am god on the site and should be able to do everything, especially screw things up!

Hello,

Only the super administrators can change the editor by default.

Many thanks
Tony

Correct.

Whilst fiddling, I have managed to switch on the ability to change editor, but that was limited to other admins.

Not sure how I did it, though.

So you as a super administrator cannot select another user when editing an event is that correct?

Are the users assigned to any other user group? Is the registered usergroup set to denied?

Many thanks

Yes and the have been authorised to create events. I have also tried giving full authority, which didn't work either.

Hello,

Ok so see you have enabled User Authorisation. Have the users been added to the Authorised Users section of JEvents?

Many thanks
Tony

OK, screenshot is the permissions setting, shown in the user group I want to allow.

I have also set several users to be able to create only, but, when I go to an event, I cannot use the creator box.

I thought that there maybe an auth conflict in Community Builder, but cant see anything relevant there!

You can only choose users who are in an authorised user group.

So if you enable User Authorisation and add them to the Authorised users. Then set their whole usergroup authorised to create events in the JEvents Config under Permissions.

Then you can select them.

Many thanks
Tony

I changed one of the permissions other group permissions that resolved the conflict, but still cannot change the creator to anyone outside of an admin.

Certain users have been allowed to event creation rights, but I still cannot choose them, whether I use User Authorisation or not.

Hi Tony.

Thanks for the pointer and looks like I have resolved the permissions issue, but still have the creator one!

Hello,

That's because it's parent group likely has denied. See:

I think the issue is in permissions.

As mentioned, the user group I want to allow is showing a calculated setting of 'NOT ALLOWED (Locked)'. When I change the 'Select New Setting' from 'inherited' to 'allowed', next to the box I get 'conflict'.
