I am building a very simple website for sporting events - it just needs a list dates for current and upcoming events and a slideshow that also displays the current and say 3 future events.
Which packages and what extra coding would be required to get something like that (similar to your Activities demo) working?
A good example would be: http://www.awakenings.nl/events/
However, I do not need the Past|Future elements of the slider just the latest ones, which when clicked would take to the main event page.

The activities demo is a sophisticated implementation of JEvents using many club addons including standard images, managed locations/venues, custom fields (including event planner), managed people/resources, features events module, latest events slideshow etc.
It required a lot of customised CSS and Javascript to create the overall look and feel and it really meant as a show case of the ultimate of what can be achieved using JEvents.
The awakenings site you showed could probably be created using the standard images silver member addon and careful use of the layout editor (http://www.jevents.net/docs/jevents/ite ... ut-editing) and some custom CSS.
It required a lot of customised CSS and Javascript to create the overall look and feel and it really meant as a show case of the ultimate of what can be achieved using JEvents.

Thank you Geraint, this was exactly what I was hoping. From what I have understood so far, this extension really is very flexible.
I can see the demo has very sophisticated functionality, what I was hoping to get was the general look and you pointed me the right direction.
I will have a go at putting the site together and will be posting if I need some help!

I just purchased the silver component, the component has seemed super, but I actually have very sad he is no longer that comes by default the style of latest activities, I hope to help me as soon as possible, to achieve such visualization, he was which prompted me to buy the component.

which part of the activities demo site are you interested in? It features a lot of specialised customisations which are only relevant to some websites.
