I am evaluating the use of JEvents to manage volunteer opportunities for a school website.
Typical functionality would include:
- Volunteer opportunities appearing as events on the calendar with time and specific items needed. - Details about each position - what you need accomplished, where and when to meet, and how many volunteers are needed.
- Parents then have the ability to fill these positions/items online, with manager monitoring the spots that are filled/unfilled.
- Email reminders are sent to each volunteer prior to their volunteer opportunity date.
I would like to know if the JEvents extension can be set up for this function, and which ad-onns are required

Welcome to JEvents! We sure do meet your needs with RSVP Pro, you can have a select list which lists the types of volunteers and you can cap each option so only x amount of first aiders can volunteer etc.
You will need RSVP Pro for this which is under the Gold Subscription.

There are two functions that are specific to volunteer scheduling:
1- The ability to schedule time slots for an event, say x volunteers from 10-noon and another y for Noon-2pm
2 - Register to donate items associated with an event, like x chairs, etc..
Would JEvents!/RSVP Pro be able to support these?

1. This is possible if you set them within the select list of the Registration form and enable option capacity tracking.
2. I'm not sure I follow this one? You could have different registration config options like, . I wish to donate items associated with the event. If texted, you could have a text box to fill out what they wish to donate.
