Hi Geraint, I absolutely love JEvents, and so do my clients. I have been a Silver subscriber for quite a while, but I see that your Gold subscription with RSVP Pro may answer a long-standing problem I'm having with another events component. Before upgrading, I need the answers to three (3) critical items that one client of mine must have before I install RSVP Pro for her.

1. Can we set a cutoff TIME for registration? I think I saw this to be the case during one of your videos, but I want to make sure I am correct. My client sells Continuing Education Courses, and she must be able to reliably cut off registration at the time the event starts. Latecomers cannot earn the credits, so we need to be able to remove the registration button.

2. Every attendee needs to receive a confirmation email for every event they buy. It looks like that's the case from your videos, but since it's possible to register a group, I need to know that every person in the group will receive an individual confirmation email containing instructions.

3. Can attendees pay for more than one event at a time?

Our current provider offers a standalone "shopping cart" functionality so that visitors can pay for more than one event at a time. Your demos show purchasing only one event at a time, so I'm not sure whether your supports a "basket" containing more than one event.[/*]

If buyers can pay for multiple events at once, does your component send a confirmation email for each event? We paid for custom work on the current provider's extension because we need to send separate event instructions for each event. We would pay your also if you could provide the multiple-email functionality as an add-on to the RSVP Pro feature.[/*] [/list:u]

I would like to switch to your RSVP Pro because I know you do an excellent job of maintaining JEvents. Please let me know ASAP whether your component can accommodate these requirements.

Thanks,

Toolie

You can set up a registration cut off time relative to the start of the event - the default is when the event starts but you can set it earlier or later than this.
Also you can set separate cut offs for cancellation or changes to a registration

2. Every attendee needs to receive a confirmation email for every event they buy. It looks like that's the case from your videos, but since it's possible to register a group, I need to know that every person in the group will receive an individual confirmation email containing instructions.

The confirmation email is sent to the person making the booking. It would to possible to add a new field to capture secondary email addresses and then forward the confirmation to these too. The only problem is that the registration itself is 'private' and can only be viewed by the logged in person who made the registration OR using a confidential link that is unique to the email address of the person who made a unlogged-in registration. Does that make sense?

3. Can attendees pay for more than one event at a time?

At present this is only possible when adding events to a shopping cart component - at present only Virtuemart is supported

Thanks for your quick response, Geraint. So RSVP Pro does not require visitors to register with the website to buy an event -- that's good, because we don't require it for her webinars. As for the other items, it will be up to my client as to whether she can forego the multiple-event purchases in favor of more stable software (yours). In case you have not yet seen it, I added a plea that you create a connection with HikaShop. See this post: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.jevents.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&;t=22588]viewtopic.php?f=21&t=22588<!-- l -->

Question: By "forwarding," do you mean that the person who made the reservation manually forwards it, or will the system send the registration automatically?

Thanks,

at present the message only gets sent to one user but we could modify the code to allow you add more emails that would receive copies of the message - the downside is that ANY of these users could then manipulate the registration (NOT good in my optinion)

If we require registration with the site (Joomla user), then only the original purchaser for the group could manipulate the registration, even if multiple emails are sent, is that right? I'm just trying to get a handle on this.

You would need to send a different email to the main purchaser and the secondary registrants otherwise they would all get the 'magic link' that gives them the rights to manage the registration.

How critical is the secondary emails feature?

I spoke to my client; she says that she is not planning on registering groups for her webinars, so secondary emails are not an issue. Thanks!
