Hi,

My subscription has now lapsed and wondering if I need to renew to get access to functionality which exists in our Joomla 1.5 install of JEvents, namely being able to choose specific dates for an event.

I had assumed this is now achieved by selecting the same day for start and end but have been shown how it used to be handled by the admin doing the data entry. Am I right in thinking this is how it is now, or do I need to install something more, or must I activate it somehow ?

Also, some custom layout buttons have text which is in a colour very close to the colour of the button and hence quite invisible. Do you know if this is something which has been rectified with a newer release than 3.1.11 on JEvents 3.1.23 ?

Thanks.

Do you mean selecting specific dates for a series of repeats? If so then this has not yet been implemented - you would achieve this by creating a regular repeating event e.g. daily repeats and then editing the specific repeats to change their dates.

You layout issue sounds like a CSS issue which would be easily dealt with using the jevents custom css tools - given the URL we can advise you on what CSS tweaks you may need

Thanks for your reply.

I mean selecting a series of days, not necessarily consecutive or repeating. I'm missing something with your explanation and therefor not sure if it will help. Would appreciate anything else you can offer.

Also, the CSS problems I am having are in the backend while editing an event.

Apologies, neither of my questions were very clear.

Hello Nic,

Then you need to create a repeating event with a count of how many events you will want.

Once done, edit individual repeats and set the correct date and times for the repeats. You can do this by clicked the round blue icon with a gold star in next to the event title in a right hand column.

Are you using the standard Joomla! admin template? There shouldn't be any CSS issues. Can you provide a screenshot?

Many thanks
Tony

Thanks, I understand the workaround now.

Regarding the CSS, I am added some components with the custom layout with custom fields functionality. I have problems with the description input area 'toggle editor' button - and another with the 'toggle editor' button accompanying an html text input area I added through custom layouts/fields. Also, both these input areas are huge.

The other problem buttons are those used to select and remove location buttons.

Thanks again.

Hello,

Are you using a non-standard joomla admin template?

Can you provide some screenshots of the issues you see?

Thanks
Tony

Thanks again,

We have been using custom CSS on the front end but not the back.

Please see the screenshot of the Event Edit screen.

Cheers,

Nic

Hello,

I am not seeing this on the default Joomla! 3.x installation.

Non the less try adding:

#selectlocationbutton a, #removelocationbutton a, .toggle-editor a {color:#000 !important;}

To your /administrator/templates/isis/css/template.css file

Thanks
Tony

Thats controlled with your editor usually, Check the editor plugin settings.

You might find JCE editor useful also.

Thanks
Tony
