I have a site running Joomla 3.8.2 and Jevents 3.4.43, on a Windows platform using IIS 8.

I have a module on the home page (http://www.ssyc.org) which includes a Latest Events module which I have named Happenings. It is configured to show the next five events.

I also have a menu item that points to the Jevents calendar, located under the "For Members" item in the main menu.

If I select a future event from the calendar, it displays properly.

But, if I select an event from the latest events module on the home page, the wrong event is displayed and the user receives the message: Sorry - this event cannot be viewed using the link provided.

For example, today if I click on any of the items from the Latest Events module (i.e. Private Party on 11/26), instead of the correct event being displayed, I am shown the details of a different event (Auxiliary Christmas Party on 12/5).

I have verified that the Latest Events module is at the 3.4.43 level

Hello,

the problem is the target menu item you have selected cannot show the event hence why you get the error message. You need to set the target menu item in the latest events module to a menu item that can show all events or what the module is restricted to display.

Many thanks
Tony

Thank you. Supplying a target menu item solved the problem.

Interestingly, I use Jevents on three different sites, and I have never specified anything in this field. I have now explicitly pointed the latest events modules to an appropriate menu item on all three sites.

This issue is resolved.

Hello,

We try our best to 'Guess' what the target menu item should be, but can't always be right which is why the target menu item should be specified :-).

Many thanks
Tony
