if i make a calendar where i set the Permissions for "Public" = Create Events+Edit own events, Publish/Manage Events+Publish Own Events+Delete All Events = Allowed
Public users are allowed to create new events BUT the edit button in the front page do not work.!

Hello,

So you want to allow anyone to update all the events removing descriptions, times tiltes etc? that doesn't make any sense to me? Why would you do that?

Also, the edit button what happens when it is clicked?

Many thanks
Tony

Its intended for a kiosk stand in internal net to book lanes in a riding facility. Just testing at the moment..

The edit button is not responding at all.

If this is working ad intendet (not a bug) I have to find another way to do this.

Ahh ok, tbh I thought it might have been an internal things once you posted that.

So by default we are tight on security and block this on the path that someone might accidentally allow this on a live site.

I'll have a chat with Geraint about the possibility of skipping these checks with a specific configuration option?

Many thanks
Tony

An unlogged in user will not be able to edit any events since the concept of 'his/her own events' is meaningless.

So in this case the edit button should not appear.

Are you saying you want an unlogged in user to edit and change ANY event on your website?

Hi
In this specific "kiosk" project yes. But i will understand if you dont want to change it in your product.
But then the Edit and Add buttons should be hidden if no user is logged in and even if the acl is changed to allow it ?
I will find a way to logg in a user in the kiosk setup with only the rights needed for the function to work,
thanks for fast replys. And a good product. :-)

Hello Rune,

That's a good point. To improve security slightly you could have it so users auto-login as X year from X IP. Noting Joomla! Allows you to have the same user logged in many times :-). This user could then have edit right sand be traceable to a point.

Many thanks
Tony
