hello

I would like use Jevents only for import/sync data present to another calendar website. My goal would be to set a single/unique Jevents calendar to each user and allow them to import their own remote data/events and nothing more. I don't want allow users to create or modify anything just allow them to look their imported data.

Jevents can do that ?

thank

Hello,

In a way yes.

We use 'Calendars' which are the feeds.

Then you can restrict users to the calendar and they can see them. They can then export events if they wish with a JEvents Export Menu Item.

But this way an admin needs to create the feeds.

Many thanks
Tony

excellent many thank for your quick reply.

Well I tested and all seem to be fine. Just a thing, I don't see how I'm supposed to setup my Cron job for continuously sync feed data. In EDIT calendar I see the option "Allow anonymous refresh (e.g. via cronjob)" so I just need to tick Yes ? Or I need to set a Cron and fire a specific Jevents url ?

Hello,

You need to click yes and the right click and copy the URL urlcode.

Then setup a cronjob with that url.

Many thanks
Tony

Ok I seen now..and the Url look like:

<!-- w -->www.site.com/index.php?option=com_jeven ... als.reload<!-- w -->

But if I'm not wrong, this Url is valid only for the related calendar. Is possible to get a unique Url for all calendar ?

Hello,

I'm afraid not for all. But you can create a cron for each calendar. This offers individual control.

Regards
Tony

Mmm too bad because the Cron would be intended to run each minute for every calendar..so is not very necessary in my case to have individual control... My goal is to avoid to be obligate to setup a bunch of Cron for each calendar (could be hundreds) and to forget to cancel a Cron if some calendar are no longer used and deleted.

Do you think to maybe release a plugin for allow to get a unique Cron Url for all calendars ? Or at least to have a unique Cron Url for specific categorie?

thank

It is an interesting idea. We could probably extend the code to allow a single cronjob to update all imported calendars in one go.

I'll add it to the TODO list.

for this sort of feature we will generally implement it once a silver/gold member of the JEvents club has requested it - often within days of the request.

I've added to the enhancements list (https://github.com/JEvents/JEvents/issues/87) and will look at it over the next week or so.

hello

I wondering if you have implemented the requested Ical import "all calendars" feed feature.

For what I see here:

https://github.com/owendp/JEvents/commi ... 1c3871e714

..it seem you added this feature. So I have updated Jevents from 3.1.7 to last 3.1.9 but I don't see this feature in any place..

any clue ?

thank

Can auto syncing be added to an existing calendar? When I click on 'From file' or 'From URL' in Edit Calendar for an existing calendar, nothing happens. They work when creating a new calendar.

To add to what Tony says - you can of course create a new imported calendar and display both calendars on the same menu item.
