I have Jevents(free) working nicely on a localhost using XAMPP.

When I come to tranferring to the remote host I can't use the normal installation method because the remote host has a problem with it (as already discussed in another thread because it is under a free hosting service).

If I manually copy all the components of Jevents from the localhost to the remotehost will it work? (I am building a website for our local church with limited (litraly no!) funds.

(I'm guessing I will have to import the database manually as well)

Yes you would need to import the database too BUT this could be complicated as it involves Joomla category items and user ids too - so these would need to be 'in sync'
