We just upgraded a client to Joomla 3. On their old proprietary site, people could subscribe to their event calendars using "ics".

Can this be done on JEvents? Is there a similar feature?

Thanks!

Hello,

It certainly can. You can create a JEvents iCal Export Menu Item.

Many thanks
Tony

Will this allow their phones to automatically sync? That is what they are claiming the old site could do.

Hello again.

We have the calendar export menu item setup but events are not updating once we've synced to the calendar.

Is the calendar sync supposed to update subscribers' calendars whenever we update the JEvents calendar? We're a little foggy on how this all works. ;-)

We got it figured out. Thanks for the help. It took a lot of styling, but the page is working well now...

One suggestion for improvement? If someone clicks a category it probably should uncheck the All Categories checkbox.

An interesting idea... but we wouldn't easily know so it would auto unselect all others.

You can just click the select all and it should toggle on/off?

Take a look at our page - I think you'll see why we think clicking any other checkbox should turn off the All Categories option...

Hello,

Have you made a change already? I see none are selected now by default.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I have the same problem. I was able to create the ical export links. It is also possible to subscribe to the calendar. In Outlook I can also successfully create a new calendar using this link.

Unfortunately, this is not synchronized when I change an existing appointment or enter a new one.

In the menu item I have already reduced the iCal cache to 1 minute for the test.

Which settings did I miss?

Thanks for the help!

Hello,

If the ical isn't refreshing this isn't down to the website. You'll find that's always up to date, but down to the application using it and how frequently it is set to update.

Many thanks
