Nevermind I found the reason:

Under the Custom Format String in the JEvents Latest Events module setting the following was in the box:

<span class="icon-calendar"></span>${startDate(%d %b %Y)}\n<span class="icon-time"></span>${startDate(%I:%M%p)}[!a: - ${endDate(%I:%M%p)}]\n<span class="icon-hand-right"></span>${title}

I removed the \n and the "n" disappeared.

Disregard I found that changing to from Component Settings to Use Settings Below I was able to modify the view settings.

Still have a minor issue with the Letter "n" at the end of date\time of the event.

I inspected one of the Event List I created : http://www.alpost75.org/families/riders
You can see the "n" between the date and icon

<tr><td class="mod_events_latest" style="border-color:#3043ad"><span class="icon-calendar"></span><span class="mod_events_latest_date">15 Nov 2016</span>n<span class="icon-time"></span><span class="mod_events_latest_date">07:00PM</span> - <span class="mod_events_latest_date">08:00PM</span>n<span class="icon-hand-right"></span><span class="mod_events_latest_content"><a href="/american-legion-info/eventdetail/6127/alr-membership" target="_top" >ALR Membership</a></span></td></tr>

There is a problem with the \n in the default value of the custom format string that appears to have crept in during a recent Joomla upgrade. The new release of JEvents out later today will eliminate this issue.
