I am trying out the custom fields which are working great so far. However what I would like to be able to do is to have a custom field for which the content varies depending on the content in another custom field (or a standard field, such as category). For instance if the value in list box A is "X" then "X1", "X2","X3" are displayed in list box B and if the value in list box A is "Y" then "Y1", "Y2","Y3" are displayed in list box B.

Ultimately what I want to be able to do is to use the event filter module so that a user can select something in list box A and the values in list box B change and the results of the filter match the criteria selected.

Is this possible, even as a paid option?

Thanks

IS this for event editing or for the display event details?

At present the only conditionality during event editing that is supported is based on event category - but we can control the output of event details using CSS more flexibly

Hi Geraint

I would like to be able to do this in the Jevents filter module, so the user could make a selection in list box A and have the contents of list box B change based on that - then they make a selection in list box B. For event editing it is ok if the administrator has to configure multiple lists if that is easier.

That could be done using a template override and some javascript - if you set up the module without the conditionality and give me the link I can advise on an override that may work for you.

Can you please share the solution of how you guys did to solve this problem? I want to add a dynamic number of persons attached to the event( just names) but it will be determined either for a custom fields with the number of people that I want to include or by a (+) button to add one more and (-) to remove. Please let me know how did you solve this.
Thank you !

Are these names selected from a list which is known in advance? Is it related to Joomla users?

If you give me some more detail I can advise on the best solution for you

the list of names will change for each event, I fixed by creating a N number of fields as a limit for the input. Now my issue is how to show them on the icalevent.list_row.
I guess making the fields dynamic is to complex and dont think is worth it for this case.
thank you!

Hello,

Make sure the custom fields plugin is set to show in list views and modules.

Thanks
Tony
