JEvents 1.5 Released PDF Print E-mail

I am pleased to announce that we have released the first stable version of JEvents.  You can download this at Joomlacode.

You will of course need the main component (remember after installation you must open the JEvents component page in the backend of yoursite to complete the configuration/installation).

Everything else is optional:

  • Mini-Calendar Module - which gives an overview of events which can be placed on any page
  • Latest Events Module - which gives a brief summary of upcoming events.
  • Legend Module - this gives the key to the category colours and is needed by the main calendar component if you want this to display at the bottom of the calendar
  • Search Plugin - if you want events to appear in the main Joomla search page

JEvents 1.5 features multiple layout options giving immense customisation potential - try them out with the JEvents Switcher Module on the side of this page.

You can view a getting started document and migration instructions if you click JEvents 1.5 in the top menu.  This is especially important for users upgrading from JEvents 1.4.3.

Thanks to everyone who tested beta and the release candidate. Going forward I will be monitoring a new forum I have created specifically related to this release

The project could benefit from more member support and we are looking for developers, moderators and translators. There is a special forum where you can express your interest .

Geraint.

The demo offers a  preview of some of the new features which will be available after JEvents 1.5 is released.

1. Location Manager

A special add on component for managing events locations and  venues complete with geocoding and  Google Maps

2. Special Ruthin Layout

Take a look at the Ruthin Layout preview.  This uses a radically new layout arrangement where multiday events really span many days in the calendar.

The JEvents Demo PDF Print E-mail

Welcome to the JEvents Demo

We have created 4 demo accounts that you can use to add events to JEvents 1.5.0.

Joomla only allows one browser session to be logged in to an account at any one time so please check the "Who's Online" module on the left to see which accounts are logged in.  Then, out of courtesy to others, please choose one of the unused accounts to log in and experiment with JEvents.

You can then add or modify events and see for yourself how powerful and easy to use JEvents is!  When you click on "Demo" in the menu and choose your Events Calender version at the top you will see the option to add an event at the bottom of the calendar or on the left beneath the Events Legend.  These are cleaned out automatically after 24 hours.

Please let us know how you get on at the JEvents Forum.

p.s. You can even translate events from the frontend. Change the language to the language of your choice and edit the event in the new language.  This creates a Joomfish translation without the need to login to the backend

p.p.s. If you use JEvents, please post a rating and a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory.
