I have Jevents installed on 2 websites, and both are giving google problems with high crawl errors. I have the "set meta-tag to stop robots crawling" to yes, but that is not working as all errors come when crawling calendar pages.

What should I be doing?
thanks

Hello,

Please install JEvents 2.2.8 or if you use Joomla 2.5 please install Jevents 3.x.

Then setup s hidden menu item called Jevents crawler and in JEvents config set the crawler menu item in there.

Regards
Tony

goolge sitemap tool, do not like the crawler page:

"Sitemap is HTML
In your sitemap is apparently an HTML page. Please switch to a supported format for sitemaps."

You need to use a sitemap tool like Xmap and include the menu item for the crawler menu item in the generated sitemap xml file.

No need for anything custom - On www.jevents.net we use the XMap component and have setup a hidden menu which we called 'Crawler Menu' (i.e. a Menu that doesn't appear on any modules on the site).

We then added the JEvents crawler menu item on this hidden menu and included it in the main XMap Sitemap

Hi Tobias,
you probably created a menu item in the footer menu, but not a hidden menu. Can you please check this tutorial and try again:

http://www.buildajoomlawebsite.com/blog ... dden-menus

?

Please let us know how it goes.
