Greetings!

I am trying to import a CSV file (example below) and am receiving the following error:

Not valid CSV file uploaded - mandatory cols CATEGORIES, SUMMARY, DTSTART, DTEND and TIMEZONE are required. Fix your CSV please

This is the exact same error reported in another post (which is kept unsolved...), although I have a newer version of Joomla and Jevents:

Code: Select all
Joomla : 2.5.9
component_com_jevents : 2.2.8
module_mod_jevents_latest : 2.2.5

I tried sorting the column order to keep with that of the error message, but it didn't solve the problem.

The CSV file looks like (I just copied and modified it from the CSV example file):

Code: Select all
"CATEGORIES","SUMMARY","LOCATION","DESCRIPTION","CONTACT","X-EXTRAINFO","DTSTART","DTEND","TIMEZONE","RRULE"
"Organização","Abertura - Prof. Luís Guilherme (UFSC)","Auditório da Reitoria","","","","20130424T083000","20130424T090000","America/Sao_Paulo",""

I need this working quickly, so the soon I have a reply the better.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

There is no reason it shouldn't work. Are you saving as UTF-8. Are you creating a true .cvs file? or just copying and pasting the above into notepad and saving as a .csv.

Excuse me, Tonyp, how could I export a "true" CSV file?

Yes, it is UTF-8

A true in my words would be to use a specific CVS program.

I am trying to determine if your actually .csv file has had alterations from a program.

Can you please upload the file you are trying to use?

Regards
Tony

Here goes the file...

Well, I use Notepad++ (which is a text editor for programming...). I save the file with CSV extension...

I am trying to attach the file in this post, but Jevents website does not allow CSV or TXT files to be uploaded. Thus, I upload it to: http://150.162.131.8/~mgirardis/programa.csv

Thanks in advance

Your descriptions include double quotes (") that have not been escaped. e.g.

sistema evolui a partir de "estados médios" e não do verdadeiro

Hello Geraint,

I fixed that, but still the same error... It displays the error when I click in the "update" icon, in the Event Management section, and it does not load the events...

there is another escaping error in event 2 (Prof Paulo Murilo)

Try using LibreOffice or OpenOffice to generate the CSV file and NOT Excel

Well, I'm not using Excel, I use Notepad++ to save as a CSV... I took out all the big texts to avoid any quote escaping error and still nothing was imported...

I forgot to mention, but along with the error, it also gives an info stating:
"0 iCal events processed. ICS_FILE_IMPORTED"

These software packages are free and are known to generate suitable CSV files.
