Hi,

I'm looking to produce a calendar for a music event. There will be five venues and about 90 artists appearing over 5 days. What I need is to be able to provide a list of artists by venue, when they are on. They can appear a number of times and at different venues. Also would like to be able to search for an artist. It looks like your product will do the job but I would like your opinion.

Hi Clive,
that's the reason JEvents People/Resources was developed!! You can use it actually for both artists and venues, but if you want to be more specific with your venues, you can also use the JEvents Locations Manager.

So I think our extensions will fit your needs with just the Silver subscription. If you need RSVP you will need the Gold subscription however.

Thanks for the response. Just a few more questions. Can I add a video into the artist profiles? Would each artist be classified as an "Event" or how would the profiles be set up, since we need a bit of detail about them, maybe an mp3 or video, bio etc?

Hi, sorry, forgot that I really wanted to clarify one point. Since the artists appear more than one venue on different days and times, would I have to re-enter all of the artist data each time?

You can add custom fields to each people item for instance, a video url and then show the link or with the layout defaults customize the view to show it as embedded video.

You just create an entry for each artist once. You can use the default fields and add more fields with the custom fields addon (as with the video link mentioned before). Then you create a venue with the locations manager and when you create the event you can add as many artists as you need to the event (for jams sessions :P for instance) and you can also pick up the venue of the event. If you need multiple locations for one event, you create the location in the people/resources manager and link them to the event.

No, just create the event and link with the artist and the venue ;)
