Is it possible to give authorisation to a group easily?

I want a group to be able to have the ability to add an event, but when I went to the jevents control panel it only seems to allow individuals.

Found it. :-)

What's the difference between create event and Publish/Manage Events?

The difference is if they are not authorised to Publish events then their event is unpublished until the admin or the category or calendar publishes it.
