JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

PDA issues and event Links

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

I can not click and open events on my iPhone for viewing.

Also if I use the URL to an event to post in a article click here it is not going to the event and says it it is being updated but it is not and takes me to the monthly calender view.

Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Hi Geraint,

It appears iPhone upgrade has solved that issue! :)

However the URL link is still a problem.

Here is the website article in Joomla and the link end up opening the mthly view.
http://www.m242fleetone.org/index.php?o ... id=48:news
click on here in the article, it should take you to the RIPS event in Aug.

Now this one does work? I did the same thing.
this one is also on the home page in the artilce Making Wave this year: also the link is click here.

Can you help here.

Thanks in advance.

This problem should be fixed by version 1.5.1 - if an event has been changed it now has a more advanced mechanism for finding it.

Jevents Version 1.5.x generates new ids for repeats when an event it changed but keeps a unique id for the event (the strange characters at the end of the URL).

Prior to version 1.5.1 when the URLs changes event repeats were not found and a message was generated saying "event changed ...".

In 1.5.1 I implemented a more advanced mechanism for finding the correct match:
1. If a new repeat occurs on the same day as the old then than that is given, otherwise
2. it looks for the repeat of the event on the nearest day to the day requested.

This means that in the vast majority of situations old URLs will find the event even though the latest URL may be different.

I am looking to reduce the need to generate new URLs in a future release.

Geraint

p.s. The event registration component will be available for testing in 2-3 weeks I hope. It will offer event registration with customisable fields, reminder emails and paypal integration.

My Iphone can't open outlook meeting invitations. It shows up in email as a meeting.ics attachment that will not open. The old blackberry did it perfectly, was sent as meeting info with no meeting.ics folder to open (in this case not open)
This is an extremely basic yet important function that should be elementary to any business enterprise phone.

What am I doing wrong?
