Yoy may add the "height" value to the table that contents the events. You may simply add it to the line:

Code: Select all
$content .= '<table class="mod_events_latest_table" width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center">';

In the folder [JOOMLA]/modules/mod_jevents_latest/tmpl/alternative/latest.php

But the best option is to create an overrides of the module and add it there. This way you may upgrade the module without losing your changes.

You said that the height tag did not work, so can you please post here the line after your modifications?

It will also be useful to know which steps did you follow

If you set the height as a percentage, your are going to get the same result as you are not imposing the module height, but relying on the module content. You should set it to for instance, height="490px" to impose a height to the module.

hmm .. how about other modules that are displayed in the middle. I mean some shown modules have height i.e. 300px, some are 500px.
With height set to i.e. 490px i didn't solve the problem of having all vertical space filled.
Hope you understand what i mean. I'm not that good in english :)
