Change of backgroundcolor of tooltip

Hello,
in JEvents 1.5 (layout Geraint) there is the backgroundcolor of tooltip (it appears, if you move over an event) transparent. I want its backgroundcolor light yellow, because then tooltip is easier to read.
I cannot find the right css-file.
Regards,
Dietmar

The transparent background is probably coming from your template style sheet.

You could try using Firebug in Firefox to find the appropriate change you need to make.

Hello,
it was only for a short time ok; the background of tooltip (template geraint) was grey.
Then it became transparent again.

I have modified the code of components/com_jevents/views/default/month/tmpl/calendar_cell.php on line 69:
$publish_inform_overlay = '<table style="background-color:#FFFF99; padding:8px; border:0px;height:100%;">' instead of $publish_inform_overlay = '<table style="border:0px;height:100%;">'
Now the backgroundcolor of tooltip is light yellow. It's ok now.

But the background of caption is transparent. It should become yellow, too. After line 160 of calendar_cell.php there all settings start.
Code: Select all
      // TT background
      if( $cfg->get('com_calTTBackground',1) == '1' ){
         $ttBGround = ' BGCOLOR, \'' . $this->event->bgcolor() . '\',';
         $ttFGround = ' CAPCOLOR, \'' . $this->event->fgcolor() . '\',';
      }
      else $ttFGround = ' CAPCOLOR, \'#000000\',';

In line 208 I modified the code and inserted '.'BGCOLOR, \'#FFFF99\','
Code: Select all
//. ' FGCOLOR, \'#FFFFE2\',' . $ttBGround. $ttFGround
      . ' FGCOLOR, \'#000000\', '.'BGCOLOR, \'#FFFF99\','

But my code is wrong, because the backgrundcolor of caption is still transparent. Can you help me.
This is the whole code:
Code: Select all
      $cellString .= '<hr />'
      // Watch out for mambots !!
      //. $this->event->content // [maybe later mic]
      //. '<hr />' // [maybe later mic]
      . '<small>' . JText::_('JEV_CLICK_TO_OPEN_EVENT') . '</small>'
      . '</td></tr></table>';

      // harden the string for overlib
      $cellString =  '\'' . addcslashes($cellString, '\'') . '\'';

      // add more overlib parameters
      $cellString .= ', CAPTION, \'' . addcslashes($publish_inform_title, '\'') . '\',' . $ttYPos . $ttXPos
      //. ' FGCOLOR, \'#FFFFE2\',' . $ttBGround. $ttFGround
      . ' FGCOLOR, \'#000000\', '.'BGCOLOR, \'#FFFF99\','
      . $ttShadow . $ttShadowY . $ttShadowX . $ttShadowColor . ' AUTOSTATUSCAP';

      $cellString = ' onmouseover="return overlib('.htmlspecialchars($cellString).')"';
      $cellString .=' onmouseout="return nd();"';
      return $cellString;
   }

As I said
The transparent background is probably coming from your template style sheet.

You really need to find the line in your template css that is doing and override or remove this

My template doesn't have a template.css. I'm using the ext theme. After a lot of digging, I found that I could change the color in components\com_jevents\views\ext\assets\css\events_css.css

This because of MooTools,
Code: Select all
/***************************************
* Mootools ToolTips for JEvents Calendar
****************************************/
.jevtip-tip {
   float: left;
   background: #000;
   border: 1px solid #D4D5AA;
   padding: 0px;
   max-width: 200px;
}

.jevtip-text {
   padding: 0;
   margin: 0;
   font-size: 0.8em;
}

div.jevtt_title{
   font-weight: bold;
   font-size: 1.2em;
   padding:2px;
   width:196px;
}
div.jevtt_text{
   padding:2px;
   width:196px;
}

Hope this helps somebody.

You may want to read this article about preserving your stylesheet customisations through upgrades in JEvents http://www.jevents.net/en/jevents-15-to ... or-jevents

The Joomla style tooltips are a lot easier to customise - see the posting above.

To customize the tooltip background you can add this code to the template.

/* TOOLTIP TITLE BACKGROUND */
.tip .tip-title .jevtt_title{
background-color: white;
}
/* TOOLTIP TEXT BACKGROUND */
.tip .tip-title .jevtt_text{
background-color: black;
}
