Hello
I just switched from Joomla 1.5 to 3.0 and everything went fine except Jevents ...
I tried the migration script, but I didn't make it.
I now exported all the events from my 1.5 site into and iCal File. Can I import that one somehow into jEvents under Joomla 3.0 ?
Or can anybody help me with the migration ?

Hello,

If you exported the events into an ical file.

Then just Go to the JEvents Control Panel, then select Calendars, Create new Calendar from file.

Tony

I am in the process of moving an SME 7 to an SME 8 installation. My old jevents is 1.5, and the new is 3.0.

Just wondering how you exported your calendar/events from the old 1.5 installation. I can't find the functionality to do that....assuming it's there somewhere. Hoping you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Jim

Hello Jim,

You would create a JEvents Joomla! Menu Item to export events, It's called some thing like Export.

Hello!
I need to do the very same thing: migrating from JEvents 1.5 to 3.0. My site(s) are running on JEvents 1.5.4 b1705. But the JEvents export-link gives me a 403 error. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

Are you logged in when accessing the link? this sounds like a configuration issue on your end.

You should upgrade the 1.5 site to JEvents 1.5.6.

Your're right! That was a config issue I've missed out. Is there a specific reason to update to 1.5.6? The export worked well as far as I can see: All published events were exported to the file and I could import it into JEvents 3.0.
Some more questions came up:
Can I import events into an existing calendar?
is it better to export / import via csv?
Thanks!
Chris

Hi Chris,

Just do both see right up to date to avoid complications.

If you have the file, either cvs or iCal it doesn't matter, then go to Jevejts, calendars, create new and select import from file.
