Adding Event or Editing Event from the front end

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

Hi,

First thanks for the good work on this extension its really useful to me. The only problem I am having is that of adding events from the front -end. I have searched the forum but none of the issues related to the front end resembled mine.

I am running
PHP 5.2.5,
Joomla! 1.5.10,
Apache/2.2.8 (Win32),
Windows vista OS,
Database version 5.0.45-community-nt
Memory limit 128 mb
Web browsers - firefox 3.0.11, chrome 2.0.172.31, IE 8.
JEvents 1.5.1

I have created a menu for creating events from the front end. I have tried the following options and i get the following issues on each.

option one - I enabled front end pop up in the configuration.
Under this option the adding event works fine, tabs appear correctly and the event is saved in the database. But when I click the save button or cancel it doesn't return to my previous window or my website a blank screen appears. firefox error console records the following error,

Error: window.parent.SqueezeBox is undefined
Source File: http://localhost/leowapi/index.php?opti ... Itemid=133
Line: 2

Option two - I disable front end pop up in the configuration - so that the editing form is loaded within my site template.
Under this option - the tabs dont appear correctly - and firefox error console returns the following error upon loading the editing window

Error: window.addEvent is not a function
Source File: http://localhost/leowapi/index.php?opti ... Itemid=133
Line: 41

Error: set12hTime is not defined
Source File: http://localhost/leowapi/index.php?opti ... Itemid=133
Line: 479

Entering the event information works fine but I cant be able to save. When i click the save button i get the following error

Error: submitform is not defined
Source File: http://localhost/leowapi/index.php?opti ... Itemid=133
Line: 273

If i disable tabs in the configuration the same errors recur

Option three - Editing the events.

When I load and click the edit button on the front end i get the following errors

Error: window.addEvent is not a function
Source File: http://localhost/leowapi/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=54
Line: 536

Error: $$ is not defined
Source File: http://localhost/leowapi/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=54
Line: 560

Error: clickEditButton is not defined
Source File: http://localhost/leowapi/index.php?opti ... 2|50|44|41
Line: 1

Any help in resolving the above issues will be highly appreciate. If they have been resolved before forgive my repetition and point me to the link they were addressed.

Once again this is a great extension.

2 suggestions.

1. Can you test with a joomla built in template e.g. ja_purity
2. Can you create a virtual server with a pretend domain e.g. my.testdomain.com and use your hosts file to tell your browser that it can find this domain on your server.

Thanks for the quick response. When I use joomla's template everythin is working fine. I am using JSN_Epic free template so the conflict could be there. I am running the site on my machine its not yet live. So everything is on my PC as of now.

Is there any way I can resolve this or I have to do away with the template all together to use the JEvents.

Have you tried looking at the site in Firefox and viewing the javascript console for detailed error messages. I suspect there may be a problem in the javascript that comes up before Jevents can do anything.
