JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

SOLVED Re: "Subscribe to RSS Feed" of mod_latest not in lang

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

Ok, finally find it...

it's not in the language file..

go to mod_jevents_latest, the template you choose, then latest.php

at the end of the php file, edit:

Code: Select all
$callink_HTML = '<div class="mod_events_latest_rsslink">'
         .'<a href="'.$this->rsslink.'" title="'.JText::_("RSS Feed").'"  target="_blank">'
         .'<img src="'.$rssimg.'" alt="'.JText::_("RSS Feed").'" />'
         .JText::_("Subscribe to RSS Feed")
         . '</a>'
         . '</div>';

The problem is here:
Code: Select all
JText::_("Subscribe to RSS Feed")

I put this on top:

Code: Select all
$lang =& JFactory::getLanguage();
         if ($lang->getName() === "French (FR)"){
            $rssname = "Syndiquer le flux RSS";
         }
         else{
            $rssname = "Subscribe to RSS Feed";
         }

and replace:

Code: Select all
JText::_("Subscribe to RSS Feed")

For this:

Code: Select all
$rssname

ok, it's horrible code but I just send you something before I leave for the day.

if someone can fix this properly, would be very appreciated :)

Don't forget to use an override like this:
/templates/yourtemplate/html/mod_jevents_latest/iconic/latest.php

Regards!

I would suggest to simply replace JText::_("Subscribe to RSS Feed") by JText::_("SUBSCRIBE_TO_RSS_FEED") this way the string is automatically substituted based on what is contained in the corresponding translated french file.

It works for me but you have to make the change in every template.
