Display only 1 iCal calendar

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.

I've been using JEvents 1.5 for a while now. One thing I'd like to know how to do is to display only one of my iCal calendars at a time, with only the events for that calendar. So, for example, I have two iCal's named 'calendar1' and 'calendar2'. Each one has several events published. I'd like to have a link like 'See calendar1', and have it just show those events associated with 'calendar1'. Same for 'calendar2'. Is this possible? Seems like it should be.

Hmmm, I'll let Geraint correct me, but I do not think there is a way to select by iCal Calendar.

Assuming that your various calendars have unique categories, THERE IS a way to select by those. When you set up the menu item for a Calendar you can specify up to 10 categories to include in that calendar view. These are specified in the Parameters (Component) on the right. Click on that to expand it.

Likewise, the mod_jevents_cal mini-calendar can have up to 5 Categories specified in the Module parameters when you set that up.

Hope this helps,
Ken

Ken,

Thanks for the response! I am only seeing a choice of 5 in my parameters when I set up a menu link. I am still using beta 2, if that makes a difference.

Perhaps you could explain why there would be the ability to define different calendars, but no way to display just one of the calendars? I don't know the subtleties of iCal, so there may be a great reason

Also, do you know if there is a way to hook some kind mapping into the event location?

Thanks again for the help!!!

Sorry, but you have me stumped on all counts. Perhaps Geraint will comment.

With regards to mapping, I usually put map links in the description part of my events.

I am not certain if there is an easy way to do this in the 'Location' section. I have not tried it there, but have you attempted to use a link as in [url= etc. ?

arc_admin,

I am actually trying to work on something right now to integrate the excellent 'Googlemaps Plugin" into JEvents, utilizing the location field. If I can get it to work, I will post here!

Thanks for the prompt help!
