JEvents 1.5 (No longer actively supported)

RSS feed from Latest Events module

JEvents 2.0 was launched over 2 years ago and the latest stable version is version 2.2 which will run on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. JEvents 1.5 is therefore no longer actively supported - you should upgrade to JEvents 2.2+ as soon as possible.
Forum rules
Please include as much detail in any test or bug reports for JEvents 1.5 as possible.

First of all, check if you are running the latest available version of Joomla! and JEvents. Posts for issues, where both systems are not updated, will be ignored.

I've set some custom format strings in a Latest Events module. The module shows these as expected. I have changed the RSS setting in the Global Config to "get RSS feed from the module" and expected that the RSS feed would then show the same fields as the settings from the module. It isn't doing this - it shows the same info as if the "get RSS feed from the module" setting was set to "Component settings".

Is what I expected possible? If so do I need to make some additional changes elsewhere in the config or some component element?

Thanks for any help :)

The RSS output must be configured using a template override for components/com_jevents/views/modlatest/tmpl/rss.php

I have had a chance now to have a go at this. Whilst I was able to set up a template override because my PHP knowledge is pretty limited I haven't been able to achieve what I wanted.

I see there is an article on "Customising the RSS Feed Ouput" in the Club documentation, does this cover what I was hoping to do? If so I will purchase a membership and read up :)

The specific document is quite small, and informs you how to find/add extra fields you can add in the description.

IF you join the club we will be more than happy to help guide you with more detail.

Ah okay, thanks Tony. I had managed to do what that document describes, but it isn't what I need.

Sounds like I should join up anyway...
