showing google map on event detail page

I'm importing events from google calendar - this is working fine.
I would like to see a map of the event location, but i don't see the map at the event detail page.
Is it not possible to show the location in a map from the imported google event?
I have installed JEvents Locations.

If you have customised the JEvents Event Detail page, you will also need to include the locations map tag in:

JEvents -> Custom Layouts -> Event Detail Page

There is no location associated with:

https://www.jjvb.de/index.php/termine/eventdetail/976/-/18132-verbandstag

So it wouldn't show one?

However, did you add the locations as text input before you enabled the managed locations plugin? IF so you will need to create the locations and assign them accordingly to each event.

Hello Stefan,

It can when a location is created within it.

But if you look at your events now, when you edit them you need to select a location.

All I have to do is delete the events and import again from google? Then the locations are automatically generated?

Ahh ok! So you need to configure managed locations to match locations on ical import.. Then reimport and hey pesto it should create/match location.

After configuring managed location to create the locations after an ical-import, delete the events, and then reimport the events, a short message will appear "creating location using google data ...". But at the date is still no location. No other location has been created in Managed Location.

Since the configuration I do not see addresses at the "JEvents Latest Events"-modul and icalevent.list_row!?!

What am I doing wrong?

Tony is away on vacation/holiday for a couple of weeks so I'm taking a look at this.

Looking at your managed locations home page I see the message

Warning
You have not configured an API key for Google Maps. Since June 22 you may need an API key for Google Maps service to work. Please check this blog post for further information.

This is probably the reason no matching locations are being created on import.

Hello,
I have reconfigured the Managed Location Plugin, including the Google Api Key. Once I save, the plugin will stop working. There are no longer any addresses displayed in the events and in the event preview. If I delete all events and import them again from Google, places would be created, but these are not found in the backend.
Have the plugin uninstalled again and fresh unconfigured installed so that at least the addresses are displayed.

It is ok. I added the Google Api Key at the Site Details Tab for configuration.
