Search in Maps and display events in region

Hi,

Is it possible do Display a Map and search in this map for events like Google Maps? For example, I search for an information event about mobile websites. There are events in whole Germany so I would have a map view to see the nearest events to my location.

Is this possible?

It sure is! You can use the JEvents Managed Locations and our JEvents Map theme to do what you need :-).

Is it also possible to search for my city if there is no event in this city and the map zoom to the city and display all events in this region?

The map and the list of events displayed use the same filter so if you search by city both the map and the list will show matching events for that city. You can, of course, search by state/region.

One other approach is to use the latest events module with a map display above your list of events and show a wider set of events there than you do by default in the component list of events.
