Is it possible to set a default to 'Today' so when I click on the calendar it shows the current day onwards. Mine is still showing January....
Hi Frootjuz,
which view of JEvents do you mean? All our listing views show events from today onwards unless instructed so in the menu item configuration... Also please include your JEvents Support info so that we can see your software versions...

Hello,

I suspect your problem is actually down to the year settings within the JEvents Global Config. Please make sure they are set to: -1y
+3y

Then you will no longer need to update them.

Many thanks
Tony

Thank you and apologies for not responding earlier, didn't realised I'd had a couple of answers.

I'm sorry, but can I ask you to be more specific. When I go to my events calendar on my website it just shows January. I've done the -1yr +3yr and that's fine but still showing January as default. I've added the navigation icons to go to year, week, day, etc as an interim aid to viewers. I've looked into all the JEvents bits n pieces and can't see anything obvious (to me, a kook) as to how to set the calendar default to today.

I use Joomla 2.5, the Calendar type is 'ext'. Month view as default. Just want that month to be the current month and today highlighted. If I go to the today icon and then back to month if works. When I revisit the website it's back an January.

Please can you give any more suggestions? (the website is http://www.thrillmagazine.com if you want to go look) :-) Thank you!

This is indeed an issue. I think Tony's suggestions will not work then in your site as relative dates for global configuration are quite recent. Anyway I think we might be able to thelp you. Can you please provide your JEvents Support Info so that we can know which are your site version numbers?

Hello,

Your JEvents and Joomla Versions are very old. You should update to Joomla! 3!

In the JEvents settings, make sure the future is set to say 2025.

Will try that, thanks. Yes, I know, I've inherited the site and am over-cautious about updating ... need I be that worried, is it straight forward?

If your site JEvnets files has not been modified the update is pretty safe, just install latest JEvents versions of your addons and then perform your upgrade to Joomla 3. Everything related to JEvents will be ok.

But we cannot guarantee that other components in your site will not be affected so you better do a dry run in a backup in a developments server to be sure
