Hi,

I have been using Jevents for many years. In the last few months something happened after the upgrades and since then the registered users cannot add a new event.

I created a new menu link to add new events and when the registered user logs in, it still says You are not authorised to create/edit events.

There are no template overrides by the way.

Here is my configuration and user permission screenshot:

Hello,

Can you check the category permissions since it is set to deny per category.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,

Thank you very much. I have sent you the login info with a PM. The message seems to be staying in my outbox though.

Tony and I have both looked at this and there seems to be a problem with the core Joomla ACL code - is it ok for one of us to take a download copy of the site to run through a PHP debugger on our own computer?

Hi Tony and Geraint,

Sure, you can do that as long as you delete the site when you are done. You can use the latest Akeeba Backup zip file if you like.

Thank you very much for your time.

I contacted the hosting company. It was the same in the morning, they had to restart the services. I think it will be fixed in a minute. Thank you very much again.

I found the problem eventually - the parent id of all your categories asset table entries had not been set.

Please edit and save all your categories one at a time and it will work ok

Dear Greaint,

Thank you very much for your help. I understand that it took a lot of time. I really appreciate your support. As I have stated above, it was working very well a few months a go, but after jevents and Joomla update, this problem occured. So there might be some other people facing this problem in the coming days.

Kind regards,
Hakan

Hello Hakan,

This occurs due to badly migrated Joomla! sites usually using automated migration tools. I suspect it's become apparent in recent months to some users because of the Joomla! security updates.

Many thanks
Tony

Hi, I have the same problem. Registered users can suddenly not add events anymore while they could do that before. I have only 1 category and I did an edit and saved it but it still doesn't work. When clicking on the add event on the front end nothing happens....Can you take a look?

Hello,

What happens when the user on the frontend tries to edit an event?

If it is a whitepage, can you enable the Joomla! debug mode and maximum error reporting and try again?

Many thanks
Tony

Hi again, thx for answering. I managed to solve it already. I remembered that I put also a module on that page with a slideshow from js flex slider. Somewhere there must have been a conflict because after deactivating that module I could add events again. Good to know maybe;-)

Regards
Arjan
