Hi,
We have the need for an event registration/management/payment system.
Our non-proft organization conducts competitions in dance and music performances for kids.
So we have the need for the following.

For Round 1 of the competition
1. Competitors to login into our site
2. Register for group or solo item performances
3. Upload audio/video files for audition
4. Upload audio dance/karaoke music in mp3 format
5. We need some validation code for the music duration to be not longer than some X minutes. We need some way of either writing the validation code ourselves or if your software can provide us that feature, it will be great
6. Registrants should have the option of editing their registration – like updating the number of participants or other details
7. Submitting their entry for approval to the organizers
8. Organizers to login into our site
9. Approve/Disapprove registrations with a note to competitors if their entry is disapproved
10. Approved competitors will then pay online through Paypal
11. Approved registration information to be output in csv, excel format

For Round 2 of the event, which is not exactly a competition but more of an exhibition, the following features are needed:
1. Organizers to preload names with winners from Round 1
2. Winners from Round 1 can register for only one event (is there a way to do this validation or can we write some custom code for this?)
3. Allow other artistes to register for the exhibition
4. Upload audio dance/karaoke music in mp3 format
5. We need some validation code for the music duration to be not longer than some X minutes. We need some way of either writing the validation code ourselves or if your software can provide us that feature, it will be great
6. Organizers to login into our site
7. Approve/Disapprove registrations with a note to registrants if their entry is disapproved
8. Approved registrants will then pay online through Paypal
9. Approved registration information to be output in csv, excel format

Please let us know if your software can let us do the above. We’re willing to write some custom Javascript or PHP code ourselves if required, but your software should allow such ‘hooks’ for us to do so.

For Round 1 of the competition

For Round 1 my vision is to create a simple event to which your artists can register using RSVP Pro.

1. Competitors to login into our site

Joomla! can provide this

2. Register for group or solo item performances

You can use RSVP Pro templating system to create different options for your registrations

3. Upload audio/video files for audition
4. Upload audio dance/karaoke music in mp3 format
5. We need some validation code for the music duration to be not longer than some X minutes. We need some way of either writing the validation code ourselves or if your software can provide us that feature, it will be great

We offer the ability to upload files with your registration, but not the mp3 check. We can provide assistance in creating your own custom field for RSVP


6. Registrants should have the option of editing their registration – like updating the number of participants or other details

This is an option you can easily set in RSVP Pro


7. Submitting their entry for approval to the organizers
8. Organizers to login into our site
9. Approve/Disapprove registrations with a note to competitors if their entry is disapproved
10. Approved competitors will then pay online through Paypal

Payment after confirmation would need some tweaking in the RSVP Pro logic. We already include Paypal payment gateway.

You can download a csv file with all the attendees information.


For Round 2 of the event, which is not exactly a competition but more of an exhibition, the following features are needed:

For this Round I think the best way is to create an Event with the winner info and another RSVP registration template.

Not sure what you mean with this. How do you mark the winners in the system? Your probably can use People Manager to handle your groups and winners and use it to add them to your events.

This is not possible at present although I think it might be possible to create a plugin for it.

Same as in round 1.

JEvents and RSVP Pro provides lots of hooks and it's extensible through plugins and custom fields, so your probably can get everything done with our software if you are willing to develop your own plugins and integrations.
