Popup quickly disappears when editing front-end event

When I try to edit an event via front-end, the popup quickly disappears after 1 second
This prevents users from editing the events..
I am using 3.4.46 Stable with Joomla 3.8.8.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

It is very likely an issue with your template. We have resolved this for our next release.

Sorry you need to clear your browsers cache completely.

Or try a new browser which will load a fresh copy of the js file.
