Over 40 € every 6 month, lot of money for an non profit org

Hello,

I am the Webmaster of a non profit organisation (sport club).

First of all, I would say that with JEvents it seems I finally find THE Event Manager that is usable by my organisation... before I had to work at least 3 days, beginning of each year, to make all calendars up to date.

But one is very disturbing for me, and prevent me implementing JEvents on our website: The Event Location Add On, who is present natively on other Calendar tools (AllEvent, iCagenda) would cost to my non profite organisation over 40 €uros each month.

How should I "sell this" to the president of my organisation ?

Once you have downloaded the managed locations addon you can carry on using it after your membership expires. The reason to renew would be to download the latest versions and ongoing support.

The managed locations addon is very stable and so is unlikely to need upgrading unless you move your whole site onto new major upgrade of Joomla. Its possible, but unlikely, that for Joomla 3.5 you will need to upgrade the addon but when Joomla 4.0 comes out then you will almost certainly need to upgrade at that point.

Silver membership is for 6months. Gold membership is 1year.

You do not have to renew at the end of your membership. You can carry on using anything you have downloaded whilst you were a member.

If you wanted new releases or support at some point in the future you could then join again if you wanted.

I'm also looking at a membership for a very small non-profit. Glad I found this thread as paying for a gold membership one time will be much more feasible to us. We're interested in RSVP Pro. I understand that if we need support or upgrades after the year, we'd pay again. However, I am unclear as to whether or not payment processing (paypal) would continue to work after that year? Thanks

The payment via Paypal is a one off payment. We do not setup a Paypal subscription for regular payments unlike Ohanah.

Furthermore, ALL out plugins and payment processing engines which you download and install will continue to work as they always did after your membership has expired . Unless there are incompatible changes introduced from Joomla or PHP
